Eight high school football games involving Olathe, Gardner Edgerton, Spring Hill and De Soto fill the Week 2 schedule Thursday and Friday.
The action starts Sept. 10, with two home games. Olathe West (1-0) hosts Blue Valley, and Olathe Northwest (1-0) welcomes Blue Valley Northwest. Both kick off at 7 p.m., according to the Kansas City Star's Week 2 schedule.
Olathe West opened the season with a 52-14 win over Shawnee Mission South, according to the Kansas City Star's Week 1 scoreboard. Olathe Northwest shut out Olathe South 27-0. Both enter Thursday unbeaten.
Six more games are scheduled for Sept. 11, all at 7 p.m.
Olathe East (0-1) faces a tough test at home against Staley (2-0). The Hawks fell 24-6 to Shawnee Mission North in Week 1, while Staley enters with wins over Fort Osage and one other opponent to start the season 2-0, according to the Derby Informer.
At Olathe North, the Eagles (0-1) host Blue Valley North (1-0). Jason Peete's Olathe North squad lost its opener 42-28 to Shawnee Mission East and faces another unbeaten opponent Friday.
Gardner Edgerton (1-0) hosts Hays (1-0) in a matchup of Week 1 winners. The Blazers edged Lawrence 28-26 in their opener.
Both Olathe South (0-1) and Washburn Rural (0-1) enter 0-1 after Week 1 losses when the Falcons travel to Topeka for Friday's game.
Spring Hill (1-0) hosts Turner after rolling past Lansing 48-14 in Week 1. De Soto (1-0) welcomes Topeka West after beating Topeka Seaman 48-34 in its opener.
