The Olathe Northwest Ravens boys varsity soccer team beat the Lawrence Free State Firebirds 3-1 in their season opener Aug. 28.
The game began at 7 p.m. at CBAC in Olathe. The win moved the Ravens to 1-0 on the 2026-27 KSHSAA boys soccer season. Free State fell to 0-1.
The Sunflower League posted the final score on Aug. 30.
Individual goal scorers and assist leaders were not available as of publication.

Chiefs president Mark Donovan confirmed Sept. 17 that the team's planned $300 million Olathe headquarters and training facility will carry a corporate sponsor name, with companies already in discussions for the naming rights.

The Olathe West Owls split their first two games of 2026 and travel to CBAC on Sept. 18 for a rivalry rematch against the Olathe Northwest Ravens, who ended the Owls' 2025 playoff run with a 34-21 win.
