Four people, including a 3-year-old girl, were hospitalized after a rollover crash at 135th Street and Black Bob Road in Olathe on Aug. 26.

A Kia Niro T-boned an Isuzu box truck at the intersection at about 2:25 p.m., knocking the truck onto its driver's side, the Johnson County Post reported. The crash happened in a construction zone where pavement had been milled and repaving work was in progress.

Olathe firefighters arrived to find both vehicles with heavy damage. Four Johnson County Med-Act ambulances responded and transported the injured to an area hospital.

Three Kia occupants unbelted

Three people were inside the Kia: a man and a woman, both in their 40s, and the 3-year-old girl. None of the three was wearing a seatbelt, according to the Johnson County Post. Both adults suffered serious injuries.

The box truck driver, a 22-year-old man, was wearing a seatbelt. He also sustained injuries in the crash.

Olathe Police Department spokesperson Maj. Joe Sudduth confirmed in an emailed response to the Johnson County Post that all four injuries are non-life-threatening. No charges have been announced.

Sudduth told the Johnson County Post that the cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Intersection closed about 90 minutes

Police shut down the intersection while crews worked the scene. Westbound 135th Street traffic was redirected to Black Bob Road, and southbound traffic was diverted to westbound 134th Street.

Tow trucks removed both vehicles, and the intersection reopened just after 4 p.m.

No official Olathe Police Department press release or social media post about the crash had been published as of Aug. 27.
