A pickup truck struck a 15-year-old boy riding a bicycle near 135th Street and S. Blackfoot Drive in Olathe around 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, according to news stringer Mike Frizzell.
Johnson County Med-Act transported the boy to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. Frizzell reported that he was in stable condition.
Olathe Police confirmed officers were responding to an injury crash at the intersection. The department temporarily closed westbound 135th Street and announced later that evening that the road had reopened.
The Olathe Police Department is investigating the collision.
Frizzell reported that a man was driving the pickup truck. His post did not include additional details about the driver or the circumstances of the crash. A video thumbnail accompanied the post, but no further narrative was provided.
