Spring Hill and De Soto stayed unbeaten while Olathe West picked up its second win in a five-game Friday night across Olathe-area football.
The Broncos blanked defending Class 5A state runner-up Basehor-Linwood 24-0 on Friday, Sept. 25, improving to 4-0. Spring Hill entered the week ranked No. 15 in Kansas, according to On3's statewide rankings. Basehor-Linwood reached the 5A title game in November 2025, losing to Salina Central.
De Soto beat Piper 42-21 in a matchup of unbeaten squads. The Wildcats moved to 4-0. De Soto entered the week ranked No. 17 in Kansas.
Olathe West topped Shawnee Mission West 34-6 to improve to 2-2. Junior receiver Caleb Swan entered the game ranked 13th in Kansas with 256 receiving yards through three weeks, according to MaxPreps.
Olathe East and Olathe South both lost on the road.
Lawrence beat Olathe East 48-13 on senior night in Lawrence. The Lawrence Journal-World reported that senior Ethan Curry scored on a 68-yard toss on the game's opening play and finished with 292 all-purpose yards and four touchdowns against the Hawks. The Hawks fell to 0-4.
Mill Valley, ranked No. 4 in Kansas entering the week, beat Olathe South 63-21. Senior running back Max Piva had been averaging more than 150 rushing yards per game through three weeks, according to On3. The Falcons dropped to 1-3.
Gardner Edgerton beat Olathe Northwest 33-27 and Shawnee Mission Northwest edged Olathe North 35-34 on the same night, according to the Kansas City Star's weekly scoreboard.
