Microsurfacing work is scheduled to begin Thursday, Oct. 15, on five streets in De Soto’s Oak Country neighborhood, with crews working one lane at a time and traffic control in place.

The work is the final phase of the city's 2026 Pavement Preservation Program, according to a De Soto city announcement. Crews already finished crack sealing in the area and will return Thursday, Oct. 15, to apply microsurfacing on W. 88th Street, Shorewood Drive, Lynne Road, Oak Country Lane and W. 91st Street.

Crews will work one lane at a time with traffic control in place. Drivers should expect delays on those streets through Friday, Oct. 16, when the program is expected to wrap up. The schedule depends on weather.

The microsurfacing is separate from De Soto's 2026 In-House Asphalt Program, which covers milling and asphalt overlay work on sections of Waverly Road and Kickapoo Street. That project is also expected to finish by mid-October.

An interactive map of the project area is available on the city's website.
