Olathe Northwest's Myles Black broke the Ravens' single-season boys soccer scoring record with his 25th goal Thursday, Oct. 22, against Olathe West.
The ONW Men's Soccer booster club credited Rincon with the assist and reported a 4–0 lead with 16 minutes remaining in a video of the play. The booster club called it "history made" as Black pushed past the old mark during what it described as an intense rivalry matchup.
The previous ONW single-season record stood at 24 goals. Kansas Sports Central had flagged the milestone before the game, noting Black was one goal away from tying it. He broke it outright.
Head coach Chris Graham called Black a four-year varsity player in an interview with Kansas Sports Chatter and praised his growth with the program.
"He's a 4-year varsity kid. His role has developed every year," Graham said.
Black's 25 goals have helped Olathe Northwest post a 12-4 overall record and a 10-3 district mark, good for second place in the district standings, according to MaxPreps. The Ravens are ranked eighth in Kansas and 232nd nationally.
The cited announcements did not identify the previous record holder or the year the mark was set.
