Clementine’s Ice Cream plans to open at 17165 W. 87th St. Parkway in Lenexa and 1438 E. Riverfront Drive in Kansas City, Missouri. The Kansas City Star reported Oct. 23 that both locations were expected to open “this winter,” with specific opening dates still unannounced.

The Lenexa shop will be Clementine's second Kansas location. Its Prairie Village store at 6966 Mission Road opened in September 2025, according to earlier Star coverage. The brand has nine locations around St. Louis, according to the press release.

The timeline has shifted. The Star reported on Nov. 28, 2025, that both locations were estimated to open in spring or summer of 2026. That article listed the Lenexa site as Elmridge and 87th Streets in Lenexa City Center. The Oct. 23 announcement now gives the address as 17165 W. 87th St. Pkwy, with no firm date set.

Clementine's divides its menu into "Nice" flavors with no alcohol, non-dairy options and "Naughty" flavors infused with alcohol. The Lenexa location will not serve the boozy options. The Riverfront location in Missouri will.

The brand's gooey butter cake flavor landed on Oprah Magazine's "O List" in 2019, with the magazine calling it the "sexiest ice cream alive," the Star reported.

Tamara Keefe, founder and CEO of Clementine's, said in the press release that the company sees room to grow in the Kansas City metro.

"St. Louis and Kansas City are two of the most passionate food cities in the country, and there are still so many neighborhoods we haven't reached yet," Keefe said.

Keefe founded Clementine's in St. Louis in 2014 after leaving a corporate career, according to the company's website. The company describes itself as one of the few FDA-certified microcreameries in the country.

Clementine's said in the release it is searching for franchise partners to open in additional Kansas City neighborhoods. No opening date or franchise operator for the Lenexa location has been announced.
