Ben Pronske scored his 28th goal of the season Friday, Oct. 23, setting an Olathe East boys soccer single-season record, the school’s athletics department announced. The milestone came as the Hawks beat Shawnee Mission East 2–1 on the road.
Pronske's 28 goals represent the highest single-season total in the program's history, according to both posts. Neither post identified the previous record holder or the old mark.
The record-setting performance came during a busy stretch for Olathe East athletics, with the Hawks' boys soccer team now in the KSHSAA postseason. Olathe East is scheduled to face Olathe South in a regional matchup at 6:00 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26, in Olathe, according to the NFHS Network.
The Monday regional pits two programs from the same district against each other, with a spot in the next round of the state tournament on the line.
Pronske will look to add to his record total when the Hawks face the Falcons on Monday evening.
