Olathe Northwest crushed crosstown rival Olathe North 41-14 on Friday, Oct. 2, in Week 5 of Kansas high school football.

The Ravens, ranked No. 8 in the Kansas City Star's Class 6A poll entering the week at 2-2, dominated an Eagles squad that also came in at 2-2 but was unranked. The 27-point win was the most lopsided result among the three all-Olathe matchups on the Week 5 schedule.

Spring Hill beats Shawnee Heights 76-35

Spring Hill delivered the most eye-popping scoreline of the night, beating Shawnee Heights 76-35 on the road. The Broncos, ranked No. 7 in Class 5A, entered the week at 4-0 against a Shawnee Heights team that came in at 1-3.

The 111 combined points made it the highest-scoring game on the area slate. Spring Hill's defense has been a strength all season. Senior defensive lineman Brooks Bayer recorded 11 tackles, three tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks in the Broncos' Week 4 shutout of Basehor-Linwood on Sept. 25, according to the Kansas City Star.

De Soto stays unbeaten

De Soto rolled Lansing 45-7 on Friday. The Wildcats remain undefeated. Ranked No. 6 in Class 5A entering the week at 4-0, De Soto handled a Lansing squad that came in at 2-2.

Gardner Edgerton wins at SM East

No. 3 Gardner Edgerton beat Shawnee Mission East 20-15 on the road Friday. The teams were tied 7-7 at halftime.

The Trailblazers entered the week at 3-1.

Olathe South, Olathe East fall

Shawnee Mission Northwest beat Olathe South 31-6 on Friday. Olathe South's athletic director confirmed the final on X.

Olathe West topped Olathe East 15-7 on Thursday, Oct. 1, in the week's only Thursday game.
