The Spring Hill Broncos shut out Basehor-Linwood 24-0 on Friday, Sept. 25, improving to 4-0 on the season and 4-0 in the United Kansas Conference.

The homecoming win was the fourth straight for Spring Hill, which sits in first place in the UKC, according to MaxPreps. Through four games the Broncos have outscored opponents 181-34.

Before kickoff, the Spring Hill School District unveiled a new 70-foot flag pole flying a 12-by-18-foot American flag. The pole and flag are a gift from the Spring Hill Education Foundation and the Knabel Family Foundation, according to the Olathe Reporter.

The flag-raising ceremony began at 6:30 p.m. The Spring Hill Education Foundation promoted the event on its Facebook page, thanking both foundations for the donation and inviting the community to attend.

School board member Autumn Coleman-Marconett, who served eight years in the Marine Corps, spoke at the ceremony. She told the Olathe Reporter that as a veteran, the flag represents the people she served with and the sacrifices people and families have made for the country.

The 24-0 result was the closest margin of the season for the Broncos. Spring Hill opened with a 48-14 win over Lansing on Sept. 4, rolled past Turner 60-14 on Sept. 11 and beat Leavenworth 49-6 on Sept. 18 before the homecoming shutout. KSHSAA described the Broncos as staying perfect in the UKC after the win.

Spring Hill High confirmed the final score on its official account shortly after the game.

The Broncos travel to Shawnee Heights on Friday, Oct. 2, at 7 p.m.
